Once again, BMW has outpaced all car manufacturers, becoming the largest producer of premium cars in the world. According to BMW Group's CEO Harald Krüger, their sales volume reaches around 2.5 million units, including the Rolls Royce and Mini brands. He shared this information via Twitter.

This makes the company the largest premium car manufacturer in the world for another year, stated Krüger. BMW includes Mini cars and Rolls Royce in this calculation. In 2016, BMW Group was already lagging behind competitors Daimler Mercedes-Benz in the sale of premium cars corresponding to their parent brands.

Regarding the sales of the BMW brand last year, the company initially did not provide information, but after eleven months, Mercedes clearly outperformed Munich. Behind this is the VW Audi subsidiary.
Including the small car Smart, Daimler sold 2.22 million cars by November of this year. To dethrone BMW Group from the throne of all cars sold, Daimler would need to sell around 270,000 cars in the last month of the year, whereas the year before, this number was 205,000.
