BMW cars have long been the dream of millions of drivers worldwide. The company offers practically ideal solutions for motorists. Vehicles from the Bavarian manufacturer are distinguished by good reliability, attractive design, excellent technical characteristics, and incredible comfort.
This is typical for many cars of the brand. Reviews of BMW 325 only confirm the mentioned thesis. However, such «perks» come at a high price. Unfortunately, the company's products are very expensive. Most ordinary drivers simply cannot afford to buy such a car.
Review of BMW 325: Filling the Information Gap
While browsing the internet, I was unpleasantly surprised by the factual information gap about the 325 model. There are plenty of comments about more common versions of the three series, but there is little information about this one. I decided to fill this gap with my own opinion. Let me start with some introductory points:
- I bought the car from the showroom in 2011.
- Automatic transmission.
- Rear-wheel drive.
- Engine capacity of 2.5 liters, 218 horsepower under the hood.
In my review of BMW 325, I want to confess one important point. My impressions during ownership have been mixed. Believe it or not, even after 10 years of driving this BMW, I have not formed a definitive opinion. I am unsure whether to recommend this car to others.
The handling and dynamics are unrivaled. At 220 km/h, there is a sense of complete control over the situation. The turns are precise, and slides to the sides are excluded. However, the high road sensitivity leads to some wandering on the road. Steering adjustments are necessary with considerable consistency. It doesn't bother me much, but it may not appeal to everyone.
The only flaw in terms of dynamics is the automatic transmission. The claimed acceleration speed to a hundred in 7.7 seconds is unattainable. In reality, I have never managed to go under 8 seconds. Even in this case, I always switched the transmission to sport mode in advance.
There are no complaints about the engine. In this case, the Bavarians managed to create another engineering marvel. The engine's advantages include:
- no oil consumption;
- relatively low maintenance costs (it cost me no more than 15-20 thousand depending on the location);
- high reliability (during operation, there was no need for significant repairs).
In the review of BMW 325, it is worth considering comfort issues. In this regard, the sedan has no competitors. The car is agile and responsive, but the suspension is soft. It cannot be compared to American cars, but in general, serious problems are unlikely to be expected.
The interior is perfect. The ergonomics are well thought out to the smallest detail, and using the onboard computer is convenient. The quality of the finishing materials is top-notch. In principle, for this money, one should not expect anything else. However, there were also some drawbacks. There are 4 shortcomings:
- no cupholders (just a «greasy» issue);
- small glove compartment (difficulties may arise with document placement);
- no pockets on the back of the front seats;
- rear-wheel drive may cause problems in snowy winters.
Therefore, my review of BMW 325 is mixed. The car is good, and arguing about it is foolish. However, there are clear shortcomings. Some people may find them critical.

Review of BMW 325 after a Year of Use
I will start the review of BMW 325 by describing my previous cars, just to provide a basis for comparison. My first cars were budget models. Then, as my financial situation improved, I switched to Japanese cars, having owned a couple of Toyotas and a Mazda. I drove an X5 for a couple of months. The crossover was not for me; a friend went on a work trip and allowed me to drive it with power of attorney. After that, I was eager to buy my own Bavarian car.
I saved up and in 2015, I got a BMW 325. The car had a good mileage at that time, and I drove it for about 12 months before selling it, as I decided to switch from sedans to a proper crossover.
Let's start with the positives. The elitism of the Bavarian car is noticeable in various details. The interior, quality of sound insulation, softness of door closure, and materials in the finish all indicate this. In terms of handling, the German car outperforms the Mazda 3 by a mile. The car literally enters and exits turns on its own.
The impression of the automatic transmission is mixed. It was difficult for me to get used to its operation at first, but I got used to it over time. For those who enjoy spirited driving, the company's engineers have provided 2 solutions:
- «Sport» mode;
- manual mode.
I did not encounter any problems with power or lack of horsepower under the hood. I confidently overtake both on the highway and in the city. The car handles even at 200 km/h. Just a little steering adjustment, and that's all. And slight deviations mostly occur due to irregularities in the asphalt surface. Overall, everything is quite calm.
In the review of BMW 325, I cannot fail to mention a significant drawback. The car lacks space for a spare tire. The model comes equipped with Run-Flat tires from the factory. Some may find them convenient, but this tire option is not suitable for me:
- heavy;
- stiff;
- expensive.
However, there is no way out of this situation. It is better not to switch to regular tires.
