The initial public debut of the BMW 7 Series, the BMW 730 model, took place on January 16, 2019. The official sales launch was scheduled for spring, targeting not only Russia but also several countries in Western Europe.
This version of the car represents an upgrade from the sixth series, which first appeared in 2015. The model's features include a wide variety of engine options, a luxurious interior design, a large number of additional options, and exterior aesthetics.
The updated signature style adopted by the Bavarian manufacturer is quite distinctive. The grille's «nostrils» were significantly enlarged, now forming a single unit. Their edge slightly extends onto the hood, featuring a rare design with embossed ribs.
The front lights of the BMW 730 have become somewhat larger, with a standard setup that includes 4 lenses for focus, adorned with LED strip lighting used as daytime running lights.
At the bottom of the front bumper, there was an air intake cutout of a non-standard shape, covered by a black grille, with chrome-coated L-shaped overlays attached to it.
In contrast, the rear part was styled more conservatively. The first thing one might notice is the large brake lights connected by a thin bar, as well as two sizable exhaust pipe outlets.
Dimensions of the BMW 730
This model is a full-size sedan belonging to the premium class, with four doors and the following dimensions: length 5120 mm, width 1902 mm, height 1467 mm, and a wheelbase of 3070 mm.
The road clearance will depend directly on the selected mode of operation of the pneumatic suspension type. When set to the lowest position, the distance between the car's undercarriage and the road surface will be approximately 135 mm.
The chassis used was taken from the pre-reform version but has undergone different adjustments. The trunk volume is 515 liters, providing ample space for all necessary items.
Technical Specifications
For the BMW 730 models destined for the Russian market, the manufacturer prepared five upgraded powertrain options with ZF automatic transmissions. The drive can be rear-wheel or all-wheel.
The standard configuration utilizes a turbocharged inline-four engine. It delivers 249 hp and is only installed on rear-wheel drive vehicles.
This setup allows for acceleration to 100 km/h in 6.2 seconds. Additionally, the car features an electronic speed limiter set at 250 km/h, with a fuel consumption rate of 7 liters per 100 kilometers.
The top configuration boasts a 4.4-liter V8 engine. Equipped with two turbochargers, it reaches 530 hp and accelerates to 100 km/h in 4 seconds while consuming 9.5 liters of fuel per 100 km.
The diesel version of the 7 Series features a turbocharged inline-six engine with direct injection. Power output ranges from 256 to 400 hp, with a diesel fuel consumption of about 6 liters per 100 km in combined driving conditions.
The top speed limit is the same as in other versions, at 250 km/h.

Reviews of the BMW 730
Justified Price
This car is not the only one in our family, but it is often the choice of my wife for trips and was purchased after she viewed it at the showroom. She liked it so much that after 5 days, it ended up in our garage.
It has already covered 22,000 kilometers and is primarily used by my wife and children for city driving and by me for long trips. The average fuel consumption in the city is 10 liters, on the highway – 8.5 liters.
In temperatures below 30 degrees Celsius, I use a special additive. Currently, BMW produces very comfortable and high-tech cars that are a pleasure to drive despite their high cost.
Smooth Ride
I never thought I wanted to own a BMW. At first glance, the new model didn't impress me due to its bulkiness and the 268 hp engine feeling subdued. All of this changed after I sat behind the wheel and pressed the gas pedal.
The subsequent feelings are quite difficult to describe in words. The acceleration pushed me back into the seat, and the car «shot off.» In short, the choice was made, and there was simply no other car for me besides the BMW 730.
The powertrain has a 3-liter capacity, a sporty transmission, and all-wheel drive. It is equipped with a significant amount of additional equipment for a comfortable ride. My immediate plans include registering the car and calming my nerves.
Testing the car on an empty night road was beyond praise. It is worth every ruble spent on its purchase.
