Reviews of car owners about BMW X5 F15

The BMW X5 F15 is the third generation of the legendary «X» series, with the first car rolling out in 2013 and production continuing until 2018.

Over 5 years, the X5 F15 has become a classic and one of the most popular cars in its class.

Of course, not everything is perfect, and like any car, BMW has its drawbacks.

My Positive Review of BMW X5

I have long dreamed of owning a BMW, and one day I saw the X5 on the street and fell in love with it. Later, I discovered that even in the most basic configurations, the car has such pleasant features as seat memory settings, very convenient steering wheel adjustment, and sensitive mirror adjustment.

Comparing with other cars in the same segment and price category, BMW offers the most comfortable features.

When I finally bought the X5 F15, I appreciated the excellent combination of the gearbox and engine. The car operates smoothly from a technical standpoint and does not pose any problems. It features a smooth gearbox, a trouble-free engine, and a pleasant engine sound.

The BMW X5 F15 boasts excellent speed characteristics, inviting for overtaking and dynamic driving. The car has excellent brakes with a good booster. In general, my dream has come true.

Only Good Things to Say About BMW X5

First and foremost, I want to highlight the excellent dynamics of the X5. The car accelerates well, leaving no chances for competitors. At any speed, the X5 handles easily, with a smooth and responsive steering. The driver's response is perfect, giving the feeling that the BMW is controlled by the power of thought.

In different configurations, you can choose different interior colors. But the X5 is a classic, so I opted for a black leather interior. The seats are comfortable, convenient, and fully contour to the driver and passenger's bodies when properly adjusted.

The interior trim looks expensive, with perfect build quality. The material fit and finish are top-notch.

There are no complaints about noise insulation. The car does not let in any outside odors. It is comfortable to drive long distances in this car, as road noise and exhaust sounds are not heard inside the cabin.

Furthermore, the F15 has low fuel consumption, a great multimedia system — from sound quality to the convenience of control buttons' placement. There are no issues with the multimedia system's speed.

BMW X5 Comes with Downsides Too

Starting with the good aspects — the spaciousness of the cabin and trunk. The car is designed for large family trips. There are no unnecessary protrusions in the trunk, and the door opens in a way that does not hinder loading and avoids scratching the door trim during loading.

What I like about the BMW X5 is that it is equipped with all possible safety features. In addition to airbags, excellent brakes, and a sturdy body, this German car stands out for good visibility.

However, the suspension is a real letdown and spoils the overall impression. It is so stiff that sometimes you forget you are sitting in a BMW. There are constant issues with suspension arms.

Another problem in the X5 is road vibrations transmitted to the steering wheel. It is particularly noticeable at speeds above 120 km/h. Even on minor road bumps, the road can be felt through the steering wheel, even at low speeds.

The X5 does not possess exceptional off-road capabilities. Although the car is tall, the body kit does not allow for full off-road capabilities. Also strange and unpleasant is the squeaking of the trunk shelf.

As for the cost of car maintenance, it's better left unsaid. Oil changes in the engine and gearbox are very expensive. The service costs are high, not due to the complexity of the car but because of its brand. Parts for the car are only sold by order, and the prices for spare parts are quite high.

The ride quality is good, and that's why I endure all these drawbacks.
