Reviews of car owners about BMW F30

About the Model

German brand BMW cars remain the dream of millions of owners. The vehicles are distinguished by excellent assembly quality, superb dynamics, and high reliability. Praise for the brand can be endless. Perhaps, not a single flattering epithet will be spoken in vain. This is fully confirmed by the positive reviews about BMW F30.

Review of BMW F30: Honest Opinion after 2 Years of Ownership

I bought the car new from the dealership. In 2 years, I managed to drive 40,000 km. I mostly drive in Moscow. I rarely venture out of the region, not appearing in other areas by car. During this time, the following was done:

  1. 5 scheduled maintenance services at official dealerships.
  2. Several oil changes with complete filter replacements.

There have been no breakdowns with the car. Overall, nothing rattles or squeaks yet, and I try to drive with maximum care.

Regarding maintenance, the company manual recommends changing oil and filters every 15,000 km. In reality, it turns out to be less. Dealerships advise me to perform such tasks after every 7-7.5 thousand km. Constant Moscow traffic with sudden accelerations and braking takes its toll. And the quality of Russian diesel fuel is clearly worse than European.

On the highway, the average fuel consumption is 5.6 liters of diesel per hundred kilometers. In the city, the car's fuel consumption increases to 7.8. During freezing temperatures, snowfall, and heavy traffic, consumption can rise to 10 liters. Overall, it's not critical for the budget, but it's certainly not pleasant.

Overall, the car seems small, but I haven't encountered any major issues with that yet. My spouse and I are more than satisfied. If a little one appears, I will think about something more spacious.

The dynamics and quality of handling are phenomenal. The car accelerates quickly and takes turns precisely.

The gearbox is good, but I definitely do not recommend pushing it with kickdowns and launch control. BMW advises leaving the oil for the entire unit's service life, but dealerships suggest changing it after every 60,000 km. It all depends on the driver here. Some trust Bavarians, others trust official dealers.

I will still schedule a replacement after 20,000 km. I don't want to spend a couple of hundred on a new gearbox.

Now, about the drawbacks. In my opinion, the most significant drawback is the noise insulation. In one of the BMW F30 reviews, someone noted that in terms of sound, the BMW is quite comparable to a Lada. This is clearly observed. People with sensitive ears are strongly recommended to insulate the car. It will definitely not hurt.

The original glass is very soft. Over time, driving the car on a sunny day will become almost impossible. I recommend installing non-original glass and forgetting about the problem.

I had to replace the expansion tank cap once. The pleasure cost me 1,000 rubles. However, the issue with coolant loss was successfully resolved.

BMW F30, a Dream Car

I am writing a review of BMW F30 after a year of ownership. Overall, I am satisfied with the purchase. Let's start with the basics. I bought the car in Russia second-hand. It's a 2012 model, automatic transmission, and rear-wheel drive. Pleasant options include:

  • heated steering wheel;
  • sport steering control;
  • Alpine sound system;
  • quality navigation system;
  • large onboard computer display.

Now, about the design. To each his own taste. I am satisfied with both the exterior and interior. The company's heritage is immediately visible. Nothing excessive, and everything is in its place.

The ergonomics are modest. Everything is quite convenient, understandable, and simple; one should not expect any cosmic solutions.

The visibility is excellent. The seats have many adjustment options in all directions. Finding comfort and maintaining a high visibility is effortless.

The two-liter engine delivers 245 horsepower. Fuel consumption is around 10 liters per hundred kilometers in a mixed cycle. The car's advantages include 4 driving modes:

  • comfort (default setting);
  • eco (for fans of calm driving and fuel economy);
  • sport (for eco haters);
  • sport+ (when one sport mode is not enough and you want to drive to the fullest).

In the BMW F30 review, I cannot fail to mention the quality of the gearbox. It is perfect. It has not let me down once in a year of driving.

Regarding spare parts and other things, I cannot say anything. For now, I only replace consumables.

Review of BMW F30: Sold and Crossed Oneself

I drove the BMW F30 for 3 years. Overall, the car is good, but it is not worth its money. Many, of course, are ecstatic: a Bavarian car, «life is great,» and all that. Let's look at it objectively.

I won't write about the car's advantages and rose-colored aspects. I want to dedicate the BMW F30 review primarily to the downsides. I bought the car used from one owner after 40,000 km. Here's what I faced:

  1. After 57,000 km, the «eco leather» on the driver's seat cracked.
  2. A couple of months later, the radiator hose burst, and the replacement cost was 15,000.
  3. At 80,000 km, I had to replace the chains, and it cost 120,000.

Continuous minor breakdowns, something is rusting, squeaking. Investments are always needed.

Overall, I got tired of this, and I decided to get rid of the car. Maybe I was unlucky with this specific car. I don't know. Now I calmly drive a Camry and have no issues. Not a BMW, but overall reliable and stable.
