**Review of BMW X5 E70: not recommended**
My sentiments are filled with sheer negativity towards the makers of the new X5. Who was it made for? Other than its exterior appearance and noise isolation, there is nothing worth paying attention to. It's a complete money grab when buying and using it afterward.

The worst part is that you waste time trying to fix it, it's so «raw» that you might as well live in service centers. Those who have driven the old X5 will understand me. A car that after driving, you have no idea what to switch to; as they say, «love at first kilometers and till the end.» Here, it's the opposite — the more you drive, the faster you want to get rid of it.

In short, my friends and X5 enthusiasts, those who haven't switched to the new X5 yet, don't rush to sell your (E-53), it's a worthy car.

P.S. I put up my BMW X5 E70 for sale at the salon, as always, I will lose money.

Started looking for a good X5 in the old body of 2006. This is what is called a «bitter experience.» Vitaliy, Bryansk.

**BMW X5 2007, automatic, 3.0: expensive, but fabulous**
Externally, everything is precise. Well, it's a BMW after all. The aggression is evident, unforgettable. Overall, the M package is worth it. 20-inch wheels — rear width 315, front 275. The bumpers are more attractive than standard ones, painted in the body color, aluminum fender flares, side skirts, aluminum roof rails.

The climate comfort glass — tinting automatically reacts to sunlight, seemingly preserving cold or heat depending on the surrounding environment.

The camera. Even with trajectory. I can't say anything good about it. It's naturally flawed. At night, you might as well park like you would with a Lada, despite the trajectory. During the day, the quality does not meet the necessary requirements, and dirt sticks in no time.

Although rumors say that cameras were fixed in 2010. Another gadget is the panoramic sunroof. Not essential, but... aesthetics in general.

Inside everything is precise. The steering wheel is chunky, very chunky, something I've never encountered before. Black pillars, black ceiling, ambient lighting, wooden inserts, seemingly bamboo. Everything is beautiful and harmonious.

HI FI Lodgik 7 music system with 11 speakers on top — a bit much for me, but I wouldn't say I'm a sound fanatic. Comfortable seats — side support adjustment, «snappy» backrest. Information can be displayed on the windshield.

Automatic switch between high and low beams — an indispensable function on the highway. Autohold — the need to press the brake at a red light disappears, rain sensor, bi-xenon, navigation — very high quality (but again, with the 2010 improved navigator), automatic lights.

The noise isolation is wonderful, the details are perfectly fitted — no creaks, the leather is pleasing — not too stiff and not too soft.

Maybe I'm being picky, but I just can't seem to adjust the seats to my comfort. Something always bothers me. In the city, it's not noticeable, but on the highway, it starts to bother.

There are no complaints about the handling at all. It's comfortable to drive at 200, and cornering is like a Porsche, changing lanes instantly and precisely. Just as long as the road is good. Potholes are not welcome.

Good brakes have saved many lives. It's the same story here. It brakes confidently and unwaveringly on almost any high-speed bump. No delays, no effort.
Six-speed automatic. An adequate machine, fast. No complaints, but 8 is the way to go. Even faster, even more efficient.

The engine pushes you into the seats from low gears, accelerates well, and after 100, it «eats» economically with not-so-economical driving — average consumption somewhere around 10-11 for 3000 km.
Very technological suspension.

When you look at this endless number of sensors, wires, and levers — as if dissecting a robot. It's all electronics. I asked about repairs if needed — they seem to have reassured that there are no major issues.

The only downside is the cost of maintenance. Really, Harik and Subaru are three times cheaper, even Porsche is twice as economical. And that's if you don't deal with the official dealer...
Everything is perfect, except for this.

**Review of BMW X1 '2011: not disappointed overall**
I chose a car not for fishing, work, family, girls, or anything else, but to enjoy driving it. The goal of buying was abstract, nothing specific, but for reasonable money. However, from the list offered, I excluded absolutely all models of Eastern European, Russian, and CIS assembly, as well as model ranges older than three years.

As a result, the choice leaned towards a compact crossover. Out of the four «finalists» — RAV, Kuga, ix35, and X1, which were approximately the same in cost, I still chose X1.

The car's equipment was utilitarian — a 1.8 petrol engine with 150 horsepower, rear-wheel drive, and a 6-speed automatic. The interior is fabric, no navigation system, but there is climate control, rear parking sensors, and 17" wheels.

In the end, I got the impression that I bought a «living» car that lives for the driver, while everything else (the purpose of the trip, passengers, luggage) takes a back seat. This car is so obedient that the steering wheel and pedals are barely felt.

My friends «nicknamed» my car a «marine creature,» a «ship,» or a «yacht,» as its deep blue color combined with the smooth curves of the body give the feeling of something underwater from Atlantis.

After the first thousand kilometers, all expectations were met. The car is comfortable, although the cabin is a bit tight (tall and hefty individuals will find the cabin a bit small). There is also «commander's light» in the cabin, meaning during a night trip, the space around the driver and front passenger, as well as the gear lever, dashboard, and others, will be dimly lit by hidden LEDs.

The handling is quite perfect, holding its trajectory sharply on turns, no roll, sharp brakes, especially with fog lights, excellent, even though it's a regular halogen light. The body of the car is almost unaffected by rain and mud. It consumes around 8.4 liters per 100 km outside the city and approximately 9 liters in the city.

Good noise isolation. The suspension is a bit stiff, handling rural gravel roads excellently. The comfortable seats are easily adjustable.

And what's completely missing in this car is a spare tire, replaced by Runflat tires + a run-flat feature on a punctured tire. The battery is in the trunk, with a pyrotechnic cartridge installed on the battery itself. The satellite anti-theft system is standard from Caesar. High ground clearance, excellent aerodynamics, attractive design, and standard roof rails for the trunk.

**Review of BMW X3 2011, mixed feelings**
Recently, I had the opportunity to drive a BMW X3. The 2-liter diesel engine has 135 kW. The car immediately gives the impression that it has become more rugged externally and, compared to the previous model, visually larger and resembling the X5 model.

The car is quite tall — about 1750 mm. This car stands out from the crowd with its powerful, aggressive front end, indicating its affiliation with the BMW brand.
Personally, my opinion of BMW is that it is one of the most charismatic and beautiful cars. Even with small wheels, it looks quite impressive.

The car's interior smells of leather (even though only the armrest is leather), it's spacious, with beige velour seats. The dashboard is made of quality materials and is at the highest level.

Starting the car with the start-stop button, the ignition key can dangle in your pocket as it is simply a key fob. After pressing the button, I couldn't figure out how to engage the gear in this car.

First, I pressed the brake and then intuitively pulled the lever up, after which I saw the message on the onboard computer, «Push the button to unlock transmission» (I can't vouch for the accuracy).

After that, I felt like I was using a modern, fancy mobile phone where you can adjust and set profiles. But honestly, I'm not a fan of it.

Because what if the remote control's battery dies, and opening the central lock or applying the handbrake is done through the computer by pressing buttons. You can't take it off the handbrake or open the door without it.

There are a total of 8 gears in the gearbox. By technical specifications, the car should accelerate to 100 km/h in 8.5 seconds. The handling and steering work perfectly for an almost 2-ton crossover. The BMW holds the road perfectly, and as the speed increases, the steering gets «heavier.»

The Start-Stop Engine system is designed to save fuel, although my onboard computer showed 10.6 liters of diesel in the city instead of the claimed 6.5 liters.

Comfort, noise isolation, navigation system, audio system — all with German quality and at an excellent level. There is no noise from the wheels. The only thing is that the car lacks «soul» and charisma, as was the case with old BMW models.

**Review of BMW X1 xDrive 20d (2010)**
In early November 2009, I placed an order for a BMW X1 xDrive with individual options. By the end of 2010, it was assembled, and by the end of February, the car was delivered to Moscow. In March, I was already driving it, having switched from the Qashqai.

For the city, this is the perfect car, helping with good ground clearance on non-standard Russian curbs.

At first, I was worried that this car had a fragile front end, but it turned out to be quite the opposite — not once did anything touch it. You can confidently drive the BMW X1 on a road to a dacha that's been torn up by bulldozers.

The care for the driver in this car is very pleasing: the board computer loves to report that «windshield washer fluid is running out,» «there's a loss of pressure in the front right tire,» or «there's a loss of pressure in the front left tire» (I don't know how, but in a month, I managed to puncture the front right tire first, and then the left a few weeks later).

The computer is also happy to report that the fuel is running low, displaying the possible mileage in reverse countdown on the screen.

The onboard system from flash drive to hard drive coolly transfers your favorite music — automatically detecting where to store each file. Connecting an iPhone is convenient, watching DVD movies is just great, and the rear-view camera has trajectory markings and parking sensors.

There are plenty of other nice little features that are very pleasant for the driver.
In the city, the average fuel consumption is around 8 liters, and on the highway, it's about 8.4 liters. 177 horsepower is enough to leave everyone behind at a traffic light. In that case, you'll be almost the first on a roundabout. For city driving, it accelerates very decently.

One thing that bothers me — the dashboard squeaks like in Zhigulis. Once the onboard computer displayed: «Further movement of this car is impossible due to the failure of the central electronic system,» I had to restart the engine, there's no spare tire, the navigation is poorly displayed, maybe it's the car or the country, but the service is terrible — no one wants to fix the dashboard squeaks.

**Review of BMW X5 4.4i (2004): quickly disappointed**
My relationship with a BMW car can be described by a quote from the movie «What Men Talk About» — «A woman is beautiful until you get her. You live together and...». If you have no desire to read further, I will tell you this — DISAPPOINTMENT.

I dreamed of such a car since childhood, but it turned out to be very finicky and expensive to maintain. Although very beautiful. However, it is well known that all beauty fades. And then various expensive and unpleasant surprises began to emerge.

Like any driver, the handling qualities are very important to me. Here I will say right away — the suspension is fine, well balanced all wheels, alignment done, but the car really swerves.

Someone might say it's a crossover (well, there's sail-like or something). To that, I say: I've had Tiguan, Outlander, Cruiser 100, but I've never encountered such UNBELIEVABLE UNCONTROLLABILITY.

In the cabin, it seems like a whole cricket herd is chirping — everything creaks. After 90 km/h, some howling starts in the car, giving the feeling that the wheel arches and the underbody are not soundproofed at all. When the sunroof is slightly open, you can also hear an indescribable range of sounds.

If the music was a bit louder, but its quality is very poor. And what's even more disappointing — a cassette deck. I can forgive the lack of MP3, but this... in a car from 2004...

And lastly — some unhealthy jerks of the gearbox started to worry me. The service mumbled something vaguely (maybe drive 10000, maybe 100000). Next, the oil seal caps need to be changed, which cost about 50000 at non-official service.

The same amount will need to be spent when replacing the leaking steering rack, and it needs to be replaced. And if you add the fuel consumption and the road tax for 319 horses, it's a complete disaster!

The only bright side — such a beauty is in demand, so it's very easy to sell. Although, I personally want to warn everyone, guys, don't buy this junk. The quality that was there before is completely gone.

Bavarian managers in the distant 80s of the last century made a big mistake when creating the «eternal car.» Back then, people would drive such a car for decades. The company itself suffered heavy losses from this.
