The BMW M4 is a sports restyling of the BMW 4 series models. The car was presented in August 2013 and in 2014, it entered mass production, replacing the coupe and convertible of the 3 series. This model became the key one, shaping the main sales flow of the German brand. In 2015, the BMW M4 F82 model was released.
The car, with a high level of comfort, boasts a successful stylish and sporty design. This was made possible by adding elements of a sports car to the exterior. Technical characteristics were also updated: the chassis and braking system were improved. It is available in two possible body styles – coupe and convertible.
The BMW M4 F82, after restyling, was released as a limited series of 700 units. The visual distinction lies in the two-tone color scheme: Sapphire Black metallic, Mineral Grey metallic, Alpine White, and Frozen Dark Grey Metallic.
The body kit, front part made of carbon fiber with an air intake, extendable front splitter, aluminum spoiler mounts, and rear carbon fiber diffuser, also underwent updates.
The main goal of the model's restyling was to review all characteristics, refine and create an optimal model from all sides. This led to this version becoming recognizable on the roads.
The car's exterior stands out with LED headlights, a titanium cooling system, and 19-inch lightweight alloy wheels. The rear bench seat was removed from the car, and the carbon seats received a new look. Alcantara became one of the main finishing materials, used to upholster the steering wheel.
The 2017 restyling led to an increase in cabin comfort, improved driving and power characteristics of the car, as well as work on the model's technology and electronics.
Exterior of BMW M4 F82
The car looks visually aggressive yet stylish, emphasizing the coupe's sporty character. Significant changes were made to the headlamps, giving them an elliptical shape. The front grille and bumper were also updated with smooth lines and large air intake sections.
The sloping hood of the model was a successful solution, enhancing aerodynamics. The design of the side part matches the front: low sports suspensions, extended wheel arches, and signature stampings. The mirrors are also designed in a teardrop shape. The sporty look is further achieved by the horizontal window line, low smooth roof arch, and neat decorative fin.
The rear part of the BMW M4 F82 has a rather menacing appearance. Here, attention was also paid to aerodynamics (body kit) and numerous stampings. The stiffness ribs, air intake niches, and neat recess for the license plate complete the picture. The aerodynamic resistance is efficiently countered by the rear wing, which additionally increases downforce, located on the trunk.
The car's dimensions:
- length of 4,670 mm,
- width of 1,870 mm,
- height of 1,280 mm,
- wheelbase of 2,800 mm.
The ground clearance is only 120 mm, indicating that this sports car is best driven on good roads.
The splitter, rear diffuser, and roof are made of carbon fiber. Allowing for reducing the car's weight, improving its handling characteristics. Compared to the last restyling, the model's weight has been reduced by 80 kg.
The front fenders of the BMW M4 F82 are equipped with eye-catching radiator grilles, a traditional solution by the German manufacturer. They provide better ventilation under the hood, allowing the car to be used even under heavy loads.
The car features a next-generation braking system that enhances the vehicle's sensitivity even when braking at high speeds. The car is equipped with specialized sensors that lock the wheels until a complete stop in case of an emergency.
