About the Model
The German automotive industry has long proven its superiority. Companies from Germany produce high-quality reliable cars. Setting themselves apart from competitors with elevated levels of luxury and comfort. The only downside to these cars is their high price.
However, even the high cost does not deter car enthusiasts from dreaming of owning a vehicle from BMW, AUDI, or Mercedes. For many, owning a car from any of these brands has become a truly unattainable dream.
Reviews of BMW X3 are largely positive. Drivers have formed a positive opinion of this particular car.
Review of BMW X3: Driving with Pleasure
In 2015, I thought about selling my Citroen. While negotiating the sale, I looked at other cars in the showroom. The Outlander brought joy. It looked attractive, had good ground clearance, a reliable and powerful engine. Then I sat in the X3.
The car impressed me immediately. The interior was truly made for comfort and long drives. Everything looked incredibly comfortable and appealing. Moreover, the «Beamer» turned out to be only 100,000 rubles more expensive than the Mitsubishi. I decided to go for it.
I've been driving it for 6 years now. I have no intention of changing it for anything else. My positive review of the BMW X3 is based on the quality of design and technical solutions. Everything in the car is well thought out:
- iDrive joystick for menu navigation;
- high dynamics and maneuverability;
- stable behavior at high speeds;
- comfort in the cabin and thoughtful ergonomics.
There are plenty of advantages. My car is equipped with Run-Flat tires. Some may consider them a disadvantage (heavy and expensive), but I like them. I mainly drive in St. Petersburg, but sometimes I have to go to the dacha. Once, I changed a tire on my Citroen in the mud at night. I have more than enough memories of that. I'd rather pay extra for Run-Flat tires.
In the review of the BMW X3, I cannot overlook the downsides of the car. As for me, the only drawback of the «Beamer» is the need for scheduled maintenance every 10,000 km. The cost in our city is just over 5,000 rubles. Some companies charge more.
I recommend drivers to carefully read the contract offered by the service technician. I was once pressured at two services to add several options, increasing the bill by 4-5,000 rubles.
Review of BMW X3: Excellent Compact Premium Crossover
Before buying a BMW, I drove an Opel Insignia for about a year. Overall, I can't say anything bad about the sedan. It is nimble, lively, and attractive. But it just didn't suit my lifestyle. Its off-road capability is almost zero, and I don't want to abuse the car. It can only fit one bike. So, I decided to get something more spacious.
I searched for a long time, and ultimately settled on the BMW X3. The prices for used BMWs in Ukraine and my long-standing desire to drive a Bavarian car were enticing. In the end, the purchase cost me 1.75 million rubles.
In the review of the BMW X3, I want to start with the drawbacks. Most of my concerns are related to the equipment:
- Unclear leather used in the interior.
- Lack of light sensors (tolerable).
- Absence of rain sensors (not very good).
- No rearview camera.
- Lack of power seats.
Given the price, I would expect a more attractive equipment package. But, it is what it is.
Now onto the positives. The main one for me is the vibrant performance. The engine delivers 184 horsepower, and I accelerate to a hundred in about 9 seconds. I was tempted by a more powerful option, but it was 250,000 rubles more expensive. Honestly, I don't regret not paying extra now. The power is more than sufficient.
In the review of the BMW X3, I must also mention the appealing fuel efficiency. I consume about 11 liters per 100 km in the city, even though I don't drive very carefully. I can accelerate swiftly.
The driving comfort is enticing. The suspension smoothly absorbs all road bumps. The seats are generally comfortable, but I haven't taken long trips. I can't say how my back will feel after 600-700 km. The cabin insulation is almost perfect. It works excellently at both 80 km/h and 180 km/h. You barely feel the road.
So far, I have no complaints about reliability. I follow the maintenance schedule, change oil and filters on time. Nothing has broken down yet.
Review of BMW X3: A Good Car, If You Have the Money
You could say about me: «BMW is the brain's choice.» I have been a fan of the brand for a decade, trying to only buy Bavarian cars. I used to drive sedans, but then decided to gain experience driving a crossover. I chose the X3.
The seating pleasantly surprised me. The car feels more like a large sedan, comfortable and easy to drive. The interior is simpler than the X5, but overall, I have no serious complaints about it.
In the review of the BMW X3, I want to highlight the driving dynamics. The engine produces 231 horsepower, allowing for quick acceleration, and I had no issues overtaking on the highway or in the city. The real fuel consumption is about 15 liters per hundred in mixed driving conditions.
One real inconvenience is the rearview mirror. It seems to be there just for show. The blind spot is about 5 meters. So, I have to swivel my head quite a bit. But that's where the car's shortcomings end for me.
In the review of the BMW X3, I want to point out another aspect. It's better to buy this car only if you have the money for maintenance. Otherwise, it's a headache:
- expensive parts and maintenance;
- high insurance and taxes (due to the high horsepower).
I definitely don't recommend these cars to those on a tight budget. The X3 is my 4th or 5th BMW. I've had enough experiences. They buy it first, then think about fueling it and settling accounts with service technicians.
