The BMW M6 F12 was developed in 2010 as a response to competitors. The model was first presented in Paris. The M6 is available in three versions — convertible, coupe, and GranCoupe four-door. Exterior of BMW M6 F12
The exterior of the BMW M6 F12 has undergone many changes. The Germans accepted attempts to give the model a sporty look. The car now looks more calm and pleasant.
To increase the air intakes, the radiator grille now has one less bar — now there are nine. The double ribs are designed to provide maximum aerodynamics. All lights of the version are adaptive and have a classic design. They are fully LED and have a slightly angular shape.
The model's side mirrors now have indicators with thin strips of light. The designers also worked on the design of the fog lights. The model is available in a palette of five metallic colors:

Interior
It cannot be said that the restyling of the interior is really worth the money. Most details remain unchanged and look quite rough. For example, the transmission tunnel completely consumes all the free space intended for the right leg. However, there is enough space for storing phones, glasses, wallets, and other small items.
The instrument panel has not changed its familiar layout. The car is quite large, with enough legroom and elbow room in the front. However, adults will only be comfortable on the rear seats for short trips.
The car's trunk impresses with its capacity — 200 liters in normal condition and 250 with the roof raised. There is enough space for storing small items in the front, cup holders, and a shelf in front of the armrest. There is also a charging point for mobile devices.
The seats of the BMW M6 F12 are comfortable, functionally adjustable for any height and build. All interior trim is made of high-quality materials: the seats are upholstered in Merino leather, carbon fiber inserts on the front panel.
The restyling also affected the steering wheel, which received paddle shifters. The appearance of the instrument panel has changed, illuminated overlays on the sills have been added. Optionally available are a heated steering wheel, built-in navigation system, and Bang & Olufsen audio system. The model can also be equipped with a night vision system recognizing pedestrians, lane departure warning system, rear-view camera, and internet access.
Engine of BMW M6 F12
For this model, BMW offers three types of engines. One of the best is the six-cylinder diesel engine with a power of 313 horsepower. It is also installed on some other models of the brand. For those who prefer gasoline, there are engines like the 640i with 320 horsepower and the 650i with 449 horsepower. The latter two differ critically only in overtaking power, with the 640i being more responsive.
The diesel engine 640d installed in the BMW M6 F12 is equipped with a 3-liter twin-turbo unit, making it suitable for economical trips. Acceleration to 100 kilometers per hour from a standstill will take 5.5 seconds. The 650i is turbocharged and accelerates to 100 kilometers in 4.6 seconds. Each of the engines can be supplied with the xDrive all-wheel-drive system and is equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The fuel consumption in the urban cycle of the BMW M6 F12 is 14.2 liters, which is quite high. Outside the city, this figure will drop to 7.9 liters. However, the price and characteristics of the car indicate that fuel consumption will be of little interest to the owner. Only those who are willing to spend around 8 million for a new configuration can consider buying this car.
Electronics
The basic equipment of the car includes the installation of Professional Multimedia satellite navigation. The system also includes Bluetooth with the ability to charge the phone wirelessly, Wi-Fi hotspot preparation, Connected Drive with online services, and an Advanced Loudspeaker audio system with a 20 GB hard drive.
Additional features include television, online entertainment, support for AppleCarPlay, and high-quality Bang & Olufsen audio system. The volume of this system will be 5.1 due to 16 speakers and acoustic lenses with a power of 1,200 watts.
Features and Equipment of BMW M6 F12
BMW designers have made maximum efforts to reduce engine, wind, or tire noise compared to other convertibles. Silence in the cabin was achieved thanks to the quality of the material and glossy finish. The car seats are upholstered in leather and equipped with electric control. Positive reviews were also received for the front and rear parking sensors. The level of comfort is also quite high, especially in the rear seats when the roof is folded.
Optionally, you can immediately purchase the SE version model, with 18-inch wheels, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, heated seats, parking sensors, satellite navigation, and DAB radio.
The next assembly option is the Sport version, available only with the 650i engine. Here the wheels will be 19 inches, the front seats will have lumbar support, the interior will feature higher-quality leather, as well as dark chrome design lines.
The third assembly of the BMW M6 F12 became the M Sport version. Its key difference is the sporty design inside and out, without additional features.
Additionally, BMW offers a package in which the horsepower is higher — 591 units. The springs and shock absorbers in this kit have been upgraded. The Competition Pack has a power of 441 kW and 20Nm more torque. It also includes suspension and special electronics for stability control systems.
Thanks to the 4.4-liter V8, it will be easy to overtake other cars on the road. Acceleration to 100 kilometers per hour will be 3.9 seconds. The speed limiter is disabled, allowing speeds up to 305 kilometers per hour. Despite this, the fuel consumption will be only 9.9 liters.
The interior is upholstered in Merino leather and equipped with a Harman and Kardon stereo system. All this makes the Competition Pack for the BMW M6 F12 significantly more expensive. But the price is justified by the comfort and exclusivity that the car offers in such a configuration.
Main Differences
The restyling mainly affected the headlights, changing the design of the LED and fog lights. The radiator grilles were modified to improve aerodynamics and cooling. The front bumper received a full-width ventilation opening. These changes affected the front of the car.
Chrome accents were added to the rear trunk, and on some models, the exhaust pipes became larger. The appearance of the alloy wheels has changed, with several color options available. Inside, there are now more glossy and leather details and LED accents.
Fuel efficiency has been improved through aerodynamic work. The standard equipment now includes a sports exhaust system with a switchable valve.
