BMW X5 2020 Review
Acquiring the X5 was a serendipitous occurrence for me, in the truest sense of the word. I already had a rather decent car, fast and comfortable. During a test drive, I decided to give a BMW a try. After that, choosing another car to buy seemed almost impossible to me.
There was an attempt to ride the diesel version, only the X6 model, but it was not too successful. Something about it didn't appeal to me, seemed unsuitable. Many advised me to go for the diesel, citing good fuel efficiency and decent acceleration, which would be more than enough for city driving.
I decided to heed the advice and started configuring on the official website. The manager worked with me, sometimes even on weekends. Those who know what the process of buying a German car entails will understand me. It can feel like losing touch with reality for up to two weeks.
At the same time, while selecting my configuration, I found out that the delivery waiting time for the purchased car was quite long, totaling 4 months. Then it turned out that the pneumatic suspension was not really necessary. The outcome was the manager showing me pity and offering a car that was available for a test drive.
The cost turned out to be quite acceptable, and for a mileage of 800 km, I decided to buy it. During the first day, I was in a state of complete euphoria while driving. I chose not to play music to fully enjoy the exhaust sound in sport mode.
The features missing in my chosen configuration — comfortable seats, pneumatic suspension, head-up display, door soft close system, active cruise control system, and blind-spot warning on the side mirror — would have been nice to have.
Seat ventilation is also absent, and the configuration itself is somewhat austere. But I am quite content with what I have, although some additional features would have been nice. The aspect that I truly enjoy in this car is the sense of excitement while driving.

BMW X5 2019 Review
The idea of changing my own car had been growing on me for a while. The thorough analysis of my journeys over the past years was the final push. Everything pointed towards the fact that in its element, namely, rural and off-road roads, the car was being used less and less.
It was acquired for this very purpose, for comfortable driving, despite our roads being designed to bring profit to car repair shops specializing in suspension repairs.
I decided to start with the BMW X5. The car provided for the test drive was in the most basic configuration, so despite all its achievements, it turned out to be very rigid. To get a softer suspension, according to the manager, an additional payment of around 300,000 rubles was required. Before, I had only heard about the smoothness and coherence of this car's suspension, now I was able to experience it firsthand.
To begin with, I would like to mention the positive aspects. The smoothness and coherence of the suspension, the absence of swaying at high speeds. The dynamics are simply wonderful, with a highly efficient braking system.
The seats provide a high level of comfort, making long trips much easier to bear. I would like to highlight the exceptional brightness of the laser light, reaching up to about 650 meters from the car.
There is an intelligent light control system, where the driver is almost not dependent — the car will autonomously switch modes and adjust the direction of the light beam for better visibility and to prevent dazzling oncoming drivers.
The insulation from external noise proved itself worthy, primarily thanks to the double-glazed windows. I would also like to mention the presence of an interactive control key, a plus of which is the ability to remotely warm up the car without leaving home or the office, as well as check the fuel level and the distance it can cover. Additionally, it allows for remote checking of oil levels and brake fluid.
After covering a distance of 4,000 kilometers, the only complaint was a squeak in the trunk, which was fixed when installing a tow hitch.
Overall, the car justifies itself and the investment made in it. While driving, the driver and passengers experience the required level of comfort, regardless of the road surface — asphalt or gravel — or even the absence of a road. Despite the considerable amount of money required for maintenance, a ride in this car will be enjoyable and memorable.
