Review of BMW X5 F10 2017

Greetings to all. My review may not be very informative since I have recently started using this car, and I plan to update it as I continue to use it.

I prefer not to list the cars I owned before as that information is dull and uninteresting to anyone. I can only say that there have been quite a few cars, mainly of Japanese origin.

My inclination towards the BMW brand began subtly, as after a month of owning any car, the use of the metal horse starts after the euphoric feeling fades. However, after driving cars of other brands, only positive impressions remain about Bavarian cars.

I acquired the car in the secondary market with 12 thousand kilometers on the odometer and have driven about 2 thousand kilometers since the day of purchase. I wanted to buy an SUV specifically because it is easier to navigate snowdrifts and piles of snow compared to a sedan.

After reviewing several options, I realized that the perfect choice for me would be the X5 due to the ample space it offers. When purchasing the car, my initial thought was to accommodate three children in the back seat and have plenty of room for various items in the trunk.

Regarding the car itself, it rides quite well considering its engine capacity and body size. It may not reach the speed of a racing car, but it is more than sufficient for city driving. It boasts a stunning exterior with subtle hints of aggressiveness, showcasing its character.

Everything about the car is satisfactory, but there are a few drawbacks:

  •     On summer tires with 20-inch rims, the suspension becomes quite stiff. After prolonged use in the city, this can become quite bothersome as braking is required at every road surface irregularity;
  •     Another downside is the statement from official dealers that the steering rack needs replacement after 40-50 thousand kilometers, which is a common issue with many models. The cost of this part for my car is $3350, which should also be taken into consideration.

In conclusion, I must say that I really like the car, and I have no regrets about buying it. I hope that my opinion will remain unchanged in the future, but only time will tell.

Review of BMW X5 2008

Hello everyone! I decided to share my review of my own car in case it proves useful to someone considering purchasing a similar vehicle for their needs.

My driving experience with this car has been extremely positive as everything functions flawlessly. For me, a 3-liter engine is sufficient for both city driving and highway travel. Overtaking multiple vehicles poses no issue.

While cruising speeds on other cars range from 110-120 km/h, this car effortlessly maintains 150-160 km/h with smooth handling akin to riding on rails. I have equipped it with Hankook winter tires for the cold season. The car itself is solid, slightly rigid, not inclined towards relaxed driving, always tempting to push the gas pedal.

Since I prefer a dynamic driving style, the fuel consumption on 95-octane gasoline ranges from 13 to 16 liters per 100 kilometers. I change the oil every 7 thousand kilometers, costing around 5.5-6 thousand rubles for oil and filter replacement.

Maintaining this car without investing in it is not feasible as its parts are not cheap. The cost of most repair works starts from five thousand rubles.

I am pleased with almost everything about the car, including its appearance and comfort level. With a good understanding of the car's technical aspects, servicing it becomes much simpler.

The list of options available for this car is quite extensive. It includes door closers, leather-clad front panels, natural wood inserts, a panoramic roof, windshield projection, road sign recognition system, and a heated steering wheel.

The standard equipment features 19-inch wheels and 255/50 tires, ensuring a decent level of comfort.

This is the first car where you can distinctly feel the difference in driving modes; switching to sports mode instantly transforms its character, making it feel lighter by 200 kilograms. With an 80-liter fuel tank, you can travel about 600-700 kilometers on a single tank.

The main components are quite straightforward, with hardly any easily breakable parts, and the equipment ensures passenger convenience and a comfortable ride in the car.
