Review of BMW X1 2018
First and foremost, I must say that this is my inaugural review.
I would like to share my impressions of the changes that have affected the BMW X1. The car was ordered at the end of March from Germany, with a delivery time of just over three months. In the first week after purchase, I drove around 1800 kilometers.
The configuration I opted for included the Silver platinum metallic color, an automatic transmission, the Xline package with LED adaptive headlights, exterior design elements, 18-inch wheels, LED interior lighting, automatic tailgate, door handle lighting, dual-zone climate control, and a sporty steering wheel.
I ordered the car during a promotional campaign and paid only for the automatic transmission. In reality, for the cost of a standard model, I received a fully customized car. Now, let's delve into the details of the updates.
A new 2-liter diesel engine with 150 hp and AdBlue was installed, expected to last for 14,000 kilometers. After driving 1800 kilometers, the AdBlue level remained unchanged according to the onboard computer.
Another change was the addition of a second exhaust pipe, as previously only one was installed on the left side of the body. The automatic transmission selector was also updated to a joystick, which I found aesthetically pleasing.
Regarding the updated dashboard appearance, the navigation screen is now touch-sensitive, enhancing convenience. In my personal experience, the car boasts excellent balance, great handling, and noise isolation.
While cruising at around 150 km/h, there's no need to raise your voice inside the cabin — everything remains audible. The system's ability to recognize road speed limit signs and project them onto the windshield is another positive feature.
Additionally, the collision warning system activated twice. The installation of sport seats also adds to the convenience. During a recent 700 km one-way trip, there were no discomfort or back pain issues. This concludes my thoughts on this car.

Review of BMW X1 2019
My first car was a BMW E87, purchased in 2017 with almost 200,000 kilometers on the clock. It never let me down during trips, but it starkly contrasted with rental cars used during business trips.
Comfort is paramount for me when driving a car. This led me to order a new X1 model from Munich at the first opportunity. Why did I choose this model specifically?
- My wife and I are tall, around 1.95 meters. Getting in and out of the low «one» was irritating, prompting the decision to only buy a crossover for the next vehicle;
- Despite the above, I aesthetically prefer crossovers;
- While I have nothing against other German, Japanese, or Korean cars, only one model stands out among my favorites;
- The excellent trade-in offers from the company.
So, I placed an order for a mid-range configuration. The chosen car was delivered after two months. After the first drive, I rated the car 9 out of 10. In my opinion, this BMW is a new car, and any further words would be superfluous.
The only significant drawback is expecting perfection from all components, which is not always the case. Some minor flaws can be found, such as poorly fitted seals, for example.
Noise isolation, handling on the road, and the behavior of the automated gearbox are all top-notch.
I am fully satisfied with the car, with no major complaints. I will continue to observe how it performs in the future.
Review of BMW X1 2017
Greetings to all!
In May 2017, the question of buying the first family car became relevant. Several options were considered, with a budget limit of 30,000 rubles.
We were mainly interested in crossovers; even a Ford Fiesta with an EcoBoost engine caught our eye at the Ford dealership, but the rear seats and trunk size didn't meet our requirements. So, the search for crossovers continued.
We tried out the Suzuki Vitara with all-wheel drive and a 1.6-liter engine. While its exterior appealed to us, it felt slightly sluggish compared to the Fiesta's engine. Other models we looked at also left us somewhat dissatisfied. Luckily, we stumbled upon ongoing discounts at the BMW dealership.
After visiting the showroom, we promptly ordered a front-wheel-drive BMW with a three-cylinder engine. Test cars were not available at the showroom at that time, and the test drive car was given to another customer as a temporary replacement. The manager managed to find a car in the desired configuration for us and arrange a meeting.
I have been the owner of this car for a year and a half now. I was initially impressed by the car's compact size for urban driving yet spacious enough for highway journeys.
Among the negatives, I can mention some squeaking in the new car's interior and slight creaking when pressing on the plastic near the central air vents. There was also a squeak near the rear door, which disappeared after adjustment but reappeared later. The issue was resolved by using tape to cover the fifth door's hinges.
I am slightly disappointed with the fuel consumption in city driving, as it never drops below 10-11 liters. In conclusion, this front-wheel-drive version of the car has become a fantastic family vehicle.
While it has some drawbacks, they are not critical to me. Its positives outweigh the negatives, and most importantly, there is no desire to park the car right away; instead, I enjoy taking a few laps around the neighborhood.
