BMW Model Reviews
When buying a BMW car, people pay good money, being confident in its quality and comfort. But why not buy a Mercedes or Toyota for the same amount of money? Because if you compare, BMW has a number of positive features that distinguish it from its competitors.
Safety
Before releasing a new model on the conveyor, the BMW concern tests it on the proving ground, pushing it into obstacles at full speed. It was this thorough test of the strength of the cars that allowed Bavarian engineers to develop a unified safety system, which has been used on all prototypes since 2012.
We are talking about front and side airbags. They can be found on both luxury BMW models and budget models. But for most Toyotas and Mercedes, this set is only available for luxury trim levels.
And an on-board computer capable of independently calling the emergency services in the event of an accident is considered a luxury on cars of competing brands, while on BMW it is installed even on the most budget models.
Comfort level
Most BMW models, including those from the 90s, have electronics that can independently recognize the level of wear of the main components. Thanks to it, the driver does not have to rack his brains over when to carry out the next maintenance. The car itself will tell him about upcoming malfunctions.
But if we are talking exclusively about old models, then the presence of electronics in them is more of a disadvantage than an advantage. Due to age, many sensors of Bavarian cars fail, which is why sometimes the car has to be towed to a service station using a tow truck (having detected a malfunction, the on-board computer can block the ignition of the car). You will not find such “glitches” on old Mercedes and Toyotas.
In terms of functionality, BMW cars are the most extensive compared to a number of analogues. Even the cheapest models have many options that are only available for an extra charge from competing brands. And the wide range of functions on BMW is not very expensive compared to Mercedes and Toyota models of the same year of production.
Conclusion
The BMW concern previously produced engines for aircraft equipment. Therefore, the technologies it acquired are very well combined with modern mechanical engineering. But BMW produces only all-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive cars. And this is a serious limitation for most drivers.
